Legal
Effective Date: August 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Savormate ("we," "us," "our") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Savormate is operated by SAVORMATE, LLC.
Account information: if you sign in, we collect your email address to create and secure your account (via a one-time link or code — we never see or store a password).
App data: your meal-plan quiz answers (household size, dietary restrictions, allergies, cook time, budget, cuisine preferences), taste ratings, pantry items, saved and imported recipes, grocery lists, and generated meal plans. This is stored on your device and, if you sign in, also synced to your account so it's available across devices.
Device identifier: if you use the App without an account, we generate a random, anonymous identifier stored on your device to enforce free-tier usage limits. It isn't linked to your real-world identity unless you later sign in.
Payment information: if you subscribe to Savormate Plus, payments are handled by our payment providers — Stripe on the web, and Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) in our mobile apps, managed through RevenueCat. We never receive or store your full card number — we only store your subscription status.
Usage data: basic interaction data (e.g., which dishes you rate, which features you use) to improve your recommendations and the App generally.
Diagnostics: we collect crash reports and error logs (via Sentry) to keep the App stable and fix problems. These aren't used to identify you.
We use your information to:
We do not use your email to send marketing communications unless you separately opt in, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
To generate meal plans and recipes, relevant details you provide (like your quiz answers, pantry items, or pasted/imported recipe text) are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for that specific generation request. This is a service provider relationship — Anthropic processes this content to return a result to you and does not use it to train their models on our behalf beyond their standard API terms.
If you paste a link to import a recipe, our server fetches that page's content to extract the recipe. We validate the URL to prevent it from being used to access internal or private network addresses. The fetched content is used only to generate your recipe and is not stored beyond that.
We share information only with the service providers that power the App:
We don't share your information with advertisers or data brokers, and we don't sell it. If Savormate is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
Savormate is based in the United States, and the service providers we use (Supabase, Anthropic, Stripe, RevenueCat, Sentry, Vercel, Upstash, Brevo) may process and store data in the United States or other countries. If you're located outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your home country. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection wherever it's processed.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access — including encrypting data in transit, restricting who can access it, and relying on reputable service providers with their own security practices. That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
You can remove saved recipes, pantry items, and grocery lists directly in the App at any time. You can sign out, which stops new syncing to your account.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@savormate.com — we'll respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law (e.g., GDPR or CCPA, if they apply to you). To appeal a decision, email us with "Appeal" in the subject line.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (by request), we delete your associated data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records (e.g., for tax or legal purposes).
You must be 18 or older to use Savormate. The service is intended for adults and is not directed at children. Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create or keep an account. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13 — or that a user is under 18 — we will take steps to delete that account and its associated data. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us at info@savormate.com and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Effective Date" above.
